This piece of music speaks about both the desire for peace in Israeli society, as well as peace in the world. Students will also explore their own conceptions of God.

Questions for God” is highly recommended as a lesson to complete before starting “I Wanted You to Know.”
This lesson uses a contemporary Israeli song wishing for peace performed by two different Israeli artists - Hadag Nachash and Uzi Hitman -
pasting
from two different time periods. There is an extensive appendix to help guide discussions and tailor the lesson for a variety of ages and backgrounds. The appendix includes historical highlights from the 1990s and early 2000’s relevant to the objectives of the lesson.
Objectives
- To think critically about the image of God in Jewish texts through examination of the different titles used to refer to God.
- To compare and contrast the lyrical differences of the two versions of this song in an effort to draw conclusions about different time periods in Israeli history.
- To explore and articulate one’s own personal opinion on God.
